In today’s post I want to share a little trick I learned a while back on how to get your Blog posts indexed virtually instantly by Google.
The first step is to get yourself setup with a Google Webmaster Tools account if you don’t already have one.
Google Webmaster Tools can be found by clicking here.
If you don’t already have an account, you’ll want to set one up. It’s free.
Once you have your account, you’ll want to add your website to the listings.
Add both the www. and the non-www. version of your site, such as for example “www.freeyounow.com” as well as just “freeyounow.com”.
Google sees these as two different web properties, so you’ll want to tell them that they are the same one by going to “Site Settings”, which you’ll find by clicking on the gear icon in the top right corner of your screen.
Once you’re there, you’ll want to make sure you have the www. version of your site set as the preferred domain.
(you only need to do this once per domain)
Once you have this setting saved, head over to the “Fetch as Google” section which you’ll find in the menu on the left side, under the “Crawl” menu.
Once you’re in this section, you’ll want to paste the URL to your new blog post and then click the “FETCH” button on the right side.
When you do that, Google will go to your Blog and it will fetch your blog post.
Assuming everything went according to plan and Google was able to find your blog post on your site, it will now show your blog post listed and ready for indexing.
Now all you have to do is click the “Submit to Index” button as shown below.
Once you click the “Submit to Index” button, this pop-up will appear.
Simply select “Crawl only this URL” and click the “GO” button.
Once you do that, if everything goes well, Google will now add your blog post to their index.
Congratulations, your blog post is now indexed by Google without having to wait for Google to find your new post.
